Most Matchstick blinds come in a size which fits most standard home windows. The stick size is mostly 1/8" in diameter, but worry not; these are also available in other sizes and you can make a choice as per your preferences. And if you are still not satisfied, here is the catch: Owing to the nature of the stick, these can be easily customized by trimming them to fit your window size.
If you look at the various blinds for conservatories, we can split them into two categories, roof blinds and window blinds, already discussed in the previous paragraph. The easier, in terms of safety is roof blinds as they are fitted up high and working either with remote control or using a control wand so that there are no looped parts within reach and no control cords to worry about. Pleated roof blinds and woodweave, also known as pinoleum, blinds fit nicely into this category. The one existing style of roof blind that you need to be aware of are manually operated roof roller blinds, as these require looped control cords to operate them open and closed. Of course these controls can be installed out of reach and neatly organized away from young hands using either a cleat or cord tidy. When it comes to Conservatory Blinds and young children, it is important that this is done at all times necessary - when a risk exists.
Before we discuss blinds, let’s try to understand the two basic types of insulation. Reflective insulation refers to insulation that is lined with a heat and cold reflecting material, while bulk insulation refers to the use of a thick material that prevents hot and cold air from entering your home. The insulation used in most buildings utilizes a combination of reflective and bulk insulation; and while you probably don’t want to use this kind of material as a window covering, the principles of insulating blinds are the same.
Now let’s talk of the benefits of Matchstick blinds. First of all these blinds can offer privacy while letting enough sunshine pass through if used on French door windows or similar kinds of doors/windows. But here you must choose carefully depending on what is of utmost importance. There might be some blinds which are very tightly woven, allowing very little light to pass. So while making the selection, keep it in mind how much light is warranted and hopefully it is not compromising your privacy. Also if you use them on a patio or even a balcony it can shield you from grazing eyes of the neighborhood even while sitting in the outdoors. Another point worth considering is that these blinds provide good insulation and help in room temperature maintenance.
