Honeycomb, or cellular blinds are designed specifically to protect against heat loss, and they are made from air-pocketed honeycomb-like material. You can get single-cell honeycomb blinds which are effective in protecting against cold, or duel cell blinds which offer excellent insulation in the winter and summer months. You can also get blackout blinds which insulate while also blocking out light. And finally, light filtering blinds are useful for controlling the amount of light that enters a room, and can help you control the warmth of a room when the sun is shining.
Now a quick look at how Matchstick blinds can be easily trimmed: The first step is to bunch up the whole blind in to layers. Now measure your window to determine how much needs to be trimmed. Divide the number by two and whatever the number put marks of that at equal distance from the ends of your blind sticks. Now carefully transfer the cut mark on to each blind stick using a measuring and masking tape. Next, use a saw blade with firm hands giving out even motion to cut at the marks made previously. Now deliberately undo the masking tape and your customized blind is ready for hanging up! One note of precaution: Keep the blind cords out of your way while cutting, lest you damage them in the process.
Window blinds are offered in various materials. Fabric, metal, wood or vinyl, the options are vast and we have to choose the right material depending upon the location of the window, purpose of the blind, type of window and so on. Like the vinyl material are best for wash rooms while the fabric material is the best for living or bedrooms. Similarly, the bay windows can have fabric material while the wood can take place in the study or outhouse.
Starting off by looking at window blinds as they have many more options and are therefore somewhat more complicated and of course lower down, potentially within reach. Some blinds are better than others. Any blind that has a control cord is a risk. When this is unavoidable consider the option of individual non-looped controls, cleats, a cord tidy or tension pulley. To eliminate or reduce the risk some good options to bare-in-mind are, spring operated roller blinds, pleated blinds operated by a friction system, using a wand control instead of a cord control for vertical blinds, perfect-fit roller blinds, remote-controlled blinds. Beware of vertical blinds as these are connected at the bottom with a chain, and venetian blinds particularly those with a larger slat where little heads could easily fit through. Most importantly is to be aware that a danger exists and to either remove the risk or to supervise all young children at all times.
